Mahoning County

 

Mahoning County is located in NE Ohio on the Pennsylvania border and covers 424 square miles.  The county seat is Youngstown.  The topography ranges from hill to plain in the north and steep in the south with beech forests. Mahoning County has the Mahoning River, Pine Lake,  McKelvey Lake, Evans Lake, Lake Milton, Berlin Lake, Meander Creek Reservoir.

Portage County

 

Portage County, situated in NE Ohio, has 506 square miles of glaciated, rolling plateaus and beech forests.  The county seat is Ravenna. Portage County has the Cuyahoga River, Mogadore Reservoir, Lake Hodgson, Michael Kirwan Reservoir, Berlin Lake, Lake Pippen, Lake Rockwell, Aurora Pond.  Hiram College, Kent State University and Northeast Ohio Universities, College of Medicine are found here.

Trumbull County

Trumbull County, named for Connecticut Governor Jonathan Trumbull, is located in northeastern Ohio on the Pennsylvania border.  The county seat is Warren. There are 632 square miles, beech forests and the terrain ranges from rolling to plains.  Trumbull County has the Mahoning River, Grand River, Mosquito Creek, Meander Creek, Meander Creek Reservoir, Mosquito Creek Reservoir, Liberty Lake.
